All you need to do is hold the devices camera over the products barcode, if the item is a penny the phone/tablet while chime, if the item is not a penny the device will vibrate to let you know to move on to the next product. With Dollar Admiral you will no longer need to have Location Services or Bluetooth enabled to scan at home stores or regular stores. This app has been optimized to provide the fastest possible scanning possible while remaining bug free. Dollar Admiral also comes built in with access to the Dollar General Penny List. How it works.
The App is very simple to use. Once it is installed you simply login with your Dollar General username and password, choose which Store type you are at (Home/Regular DG) and press Scan

How do I find penny items with the app?
The app is constantly scanning for Penny items rapidly. Once the camera is showing on the screen simply wave product barcodes infront of the camera, if the item is a penny it will chime and let you know the product is a penny. If it is more than a penny the phone will vibrate. It is as simple as that!

Will this work on Android or Iphone?
Dollar Admiral is currently available for both Android and iPhone devices. The Android version currently has a bit more features since the iPhone version was just released however they are being added in and both apps are currently free.
